We are immensely fortunate to live in a place of such outstanding natural beauty as
Totteridge, and many of us take great pleasure - as we drive or walk through the village -
in observing the changing landscape as the seasons pass. In this edition of the TRA
Yearbook, we give readers a behind-the-scenes peek at some of the fascinating and
beautiful gardens in the area that we do not normally get a chance to see. These range
from a balcony garden to one covering eight acres, and include a wide variety of plantings
from the conventional to the bizarre. What they have in common are owners who are
passionate about making things grow.We are enormously grateful to those residents who
kindly allowed us to photograph their gardens and spent time with our interviewers
explaining what it is that makes each one so special.
