Over the years, Totteridge has, sadly, lost many of the places where members of a
community traditionally congregate – the village shop, the post office, the library. Even
the Orange Tree pub is not quite what it once was, though thankfully StAndrew’s Church
remains a focal point for many. This edition of the TRAYearbook offers a ‘virtual meeting
place’ introducing residents to some of the people who live in the village and have an
interesting story to tell. We hope you will enjoy getting to know them on these pages.
This Yearbook also celebrates the huge investment made by Barnet Council in Darlands
– pictured on the cover – an investment which has transformed the nature reserve and for
which we are extremely grateful. The Darlands story is by no means ended: on a later
page, Cllr Brian Coleman describes the exciting future envisaged for this tranquil spot,
which is such a valued part of the Totteridge landscape.
