Totteridge is a most pleasant residential suburb bounded on two sides by Greenbelt.

There is a working farm, Ellern Mede, and several ponds adjacent to Totteridge Green and Totteridge Lane. The area has the Nature Reserve at Totteridge Fields, supported by LONDON wildlife trust , the Darlands Lake in the Totteridge Valley and is bounded on the East side by the Dollis Brook. The Green Belt is criss-crossed by signposted walks.

Public transport is provided by Bus 251which runs from Arnos Grove to Edgware, and by Totteridge & Whetstone underground station on the London Transport Northern Line (High Barnet branch).

Totteridge has many active societies including the Totteridge Horticultural Society, the Totteridge Manor Association, the Floral Art Club and the Women's Institute.
