Notice Board

Extended opening hours at the ibar
(formerly Bull and Butcher pub)

There has been a great deal of local concern over an application for a club style venue at the iBar in Whetstone High Road, with a 2 am licence for alcohol, music, live bands and dancing . This will include a 2.30 am terminal hour for clearance of the premises. The application also extends to an additional hour on Bank Holiday weekends to 3 am for Friday, Saturday and Sunday with premises closing at 4 am.

A similar venue was located in the immediate vicinity and residents experienced it as a source of nuisance. With patrons exhibiting threatening behaviour, increased noise pollution, additional traffic and serious law and order issues. The granting of this licence extension could once again lead to anti-social behaviour and unlawful activity.

Both the Police and local councillors have asked people to email Ms. Rudland with their concerns by 21st July 2009.

Totteridge Residents' 72nd
Annual General Meeting

The TRA 72nd AGM took place on Monday 18th May 2009 at Kemp Hall, Totteridge Lane. The meeting was well attended and we were privileged to have Teresa Villers the MP for Chipping Barnet present. She gave an update on local and national issues and then answered questions on a number of related subjects. Our speaker this year was Nicky Cross, Deputy Manager of London recycling. She spoke extremely eloquently on the recycling of waste for the London Borough of Barnet. Explaining that a great deal of myths have arisen concerning waste, such as waste being shipped to China, which are not correct. The Police then gave a summary of crime in Totteridge and then answered residents queries. Both local councillors, Brian Coleman and Richard Cornelius, were also present and answered numerous questions from attendees.

The police have asked Neighbourhood Watch to help to prevent and stop these offences. If anyone unusual or other activity is seen out of normal hours in and around likely premises, please ring the police. If you can get any index numbers even better, but do not put yourself at risk. If you live near a school or church please act as an unofficial warden and protect these premises by reporting incidents .Use the 999 system if necessary. Darlands Lake

The local authority has now completed the work to Darlands lake.
The Association really appreciate all the hard work that Brian Coleman put into helping this project to get to this stage. The two waterfalls really look in keeping with this very special site.

Local Parking Alert

At the entrance to the brook path opposite Henry Charles in Totteridge Lane there is a dropped curb. People who park on Totteridge Lane blocking its access are being given parking tickets. It is quite easy not to notice that there is a dropped curb as there aren't any signs to indicate its presence. It is always worth noting the curbs levels as lots of local residents are being issued with tickets throughout London.
