Alison Cornelius joins her husband Richard and Brian Coleman
as one of our three local Councillors. She has lived with her
family in Totteridge for 28 years and has built strong community
ties. Alison has been a governor at St John's School Whetstone
since 2006 and is a long-standing volunteer on the Chaplaincy
team at Barnet General Hospital. Last year she was Deputy
Mayoress of Barnet and, as a member of the Mayor's Charity
Committee, raised funds for the North London Hospice.
Since the June election, Alison has been appointed to eight
committees, including Health Overview & Scrutiny and Borough
Planning & Environment. In regard to the Health Committee, the most pressing current
topics are swine flu, the effect on Barnet Hospital of the changes to the maternity
services at Chase Farm Hospital, and the results of the Stroke and Trauma consultation.
