Amazingly, the 7th July turned out to be one of the few beautiful sunny days of the summer, other weekends bringing drowning, drenching days of sodden grass and upright umbrellas. This summer event was organised by the 11th Finchley Scout Group, which is the largest Scout Group in North London, the 7th North Finchley Brownies and the 3rd Totteridge Scout Group in conjunction with the Summer Show of the Totteridge Horticultural Society.
The many stalls and shows on the Green were organised by the scouts but local charities were allowed to participate. The Flower Show was held in Kemp Hall, St Andrew’s School, and attracted 300 entries. The flower arrangers’ section alone attracted 30 entries. The President, Dr Tanvir Davis, said this was an extremely successful show and had attracted a large number of new visitors.
Congratulations to the TMA for facilitating this event, which had been absent from Totteridge Green for 5 years. We look forward to another glorious Summer Show and Fair again in 2008.
